Hebrew
School begins on Wednesday, September 7, 2011
THE PROGRAM
Wednesday's come alive at Beth Moshe!
Sunday school now happens on Wednesdays at Beth Moshe!
The NEW after school Hebrew Program has been specially
created on Wednesday afternoons for children from PreK
through Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Students will participate in
many exciting age-appropriate activities to further
develop their skills of the Hebrew language and
knowledge of holidays, customs and traditions.
Our goal is for our students to LOVE
learning about their Jewish heritage in a program that
inspires, stimulates and fosters growth in Judaism.
While learning to read Hebrew or chant prayers, students
will learn about the richness and beauty of Shabbat and
holiday rituals in a warm and nurturing environment.
Age-appropriate instruction is planned for
Bible Studies, Hebrew language, Holidays, Customs,
Life-styles, Parsha of the Week and Moral and Ethical
lessons of the Parsha. Bar and Bat Mitzvah preparation
starts at age 11 for girls and age 12 for boys.
REWARD BASED LEARNING
Children will have the opportunity to earn
Torah dollars based on participation, which they can
redeem for prizes. Understanding that after a full day
of learning, children are tired, therefore, the Beth
Moshe After School Hebrew Program uses a hands-on,
interactive approach to learning to stimulate the
child's desire to learn. Activities are fun and will
include:
Arts and Crafts - creating Shofars for
Rosh Hashana, Dreidels for Chanukah, Matzah for Passover
and many other creative and stimulating projects related
to holiday themes.
Cooking - preparing traditional
Ashkenazi and Sephardic recipes for the holidays.
Fun, Games and Songs
Hebrew School is a ONE-day per week
commitment. However, we strongly urge families to attend
weekly Shabbat Services to reinforce the child's Jewish
learning.
TUITION
Tuition is $575
for Members of Beth Moshe Congregation and $675 for non
members. (A $50 discount will be applied if payment is
recieved before August 19, 2011)
